Makerspace is Open to the Public
Makers, creators, inventors, and tinkerer’s are invited to become members in the Collaboratory, a high tech makerspace at the River Valley Technical Center in Springfield, VT. The RVTC makerspace is designed to be a space where people have access to cutting edge technology and where they can come together to share ideas and collaborate to make design ideas become a reality. During the day, the space is used for RVTC students. It has also been utilized for the Tech Time and Tech Camp Programs for middle school students. The Co-Lab is focused on high-tech design and engineering. Community Members will have access to 3D printers, a Laser Cutter and Engraver, a Vinyl Cutter, a high-end embroidery machine, hand and power tools, the Adobe Suite, and other online resources.
To start, the Collaboratory will be open to community members Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 pm starting April 27th, and two Saturdays a month from 8am – 12pm starting April 29th. Memberships are $50 for an initial orientation and then a punch card can be purchased for subsequent visits ($7/visit). The cost of the membership will cover most materials, software licenses, maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.
